The encoder and decoder each run on one CPU core in a background worker. Latency counts encoding, decoding and drawing; it does not include the camera's own delay. When the encoder cannot keep up, frames are dropped rather than queued, so latency stays low. "Save .xyzv" writes everything since Start as a file the Python decoder, the C decoder or this page can play.
